![]() ![]() I would be glad to use it, as soon as it gets free, which was promised either a while ago. interesting ways.Originally posted by R-Soul:And i'm 100% not using the mod if he ever finishes it The 3D remake is also an option but it changes the balance of the game in. The Pixel Remaster works, but it also makes some changes that I just don't enjoy. Final Fantasy II feels incomplete without the bonus Soul of Rebirth campaign, so any version with that will work. If you want a bigger more hardcore overhaul, try out the "Restored & Rebalanced" mod. Regardless, with mods, I'd recommend the following: Final Fantasy with the "Grond's Final Fantasy" mod for the NES/FC version if you don't care about the bonus content, but the PSP/3DS version of Final Fantasy is also really good if you want the bonus dungeons. FF7: remake is a sequelįFX - honestly I'm partial to the original release, but the remaster is still good and much easier to play.įFXIII- PS3, though I guess the only real way to play nowadays is on Gamepass The "improvements" made for the GBA version are kinda meh, though I like Gilgamesh getting in.įF7- there's only one version but the easiest to play is the modern PC version/remaster. Not sureįF2: the PSP version, best graphics/sound, fixed improvement system AND the post game which had significant story and length to the gameįF3 - no clue, DS/Mobile have their own benefits and drawbacks need to play the PR.įF4 - Since DS is effectively a brand new game with the same story I go with the PSP versionįF6 - SNES, though maybe the PR, haven't played that yet. As far as I'm aware the Steam Deck uses DXVK by default on games installed via Steam so you might be out of luck if it's running poorly.įF1: PSX version enhanced graphics and original spell slots system. I've not actually tried that one on Steam Deck. =DebugOutput prevents Steam and some other third-party software from crashing the game, but causes a "DOS" promptĪs for Lightning Returns. =Fullscreen here actually means maximized borderless window, not fullscreen exclusive! =Only applies to Windows 10, this is related to VRAM reserve in windowed mode =Turn this on if everything in dxgi.log appears to be loaded by GameOverlayRenderer.dll If you don't then you may want to go PS5 to avoid the #stutterstruggle. ![]() Otherwise if you are using the PC version you might want dvxk mod to improve performance.įF15 - PC, though you probably want to install Special K to fix some of the controller and performance weirdness.įF7R - If you have a good enough PC and/or play at a lower resolution then still that. ![]() There was some random bugs when playing at 60 FPS with a few side quests, not sure if that's the case on the Series X BC version too, if they're fixed there then the Series X version may take the win. There was even a FPS unlock mod but it hasn't been updated to the latest version so you'd have to roll back on Steam to use it now.įF13 - PC with the FF13fix mod, combine it with mods that improve the mods and the FMVs if you have the storage space.įF13-2 - Still PC probably since FF13fix works with this too, but I don't have too much experience since I'm not a massive fan of the game.įFLR - The PC port of LR wasn't as bad as the other two so its playable right out of the gate. Project X Mod in particular makes it so you don't have to do the swap in dance to get level ups which saves so much time.įF12 - Zodiac Age on PC since it has a higher FPS Cap. While it still mega sucks about the faces in the remake, the quality of life features from both the port itself, and the mod are just too game changing for me. Consequently this one may actually not matter as much where you play it.įF10/10-2 - The X/X-2 remaster on PC with the "Untitled" Project X Mod. I believe there's also a 60 FPS mod now too but I haven't tried it.įF8 - This one is a bit messy because while there's a few mods I'm not sure there's one defacto up-res mod on PC, at least there didn't seem to be when I last looked into it. There's a few different model update mods so depends on your preference, i kinda liked the ninostyle ones. I've not really spent too much time on FF6 and below more recently, plus there's loads of versions I won't have tried so I'll refrain from commenting those (the pixels remasters look pretty good though, and I'd possibly consider those if I were to replay any time soon).įF7 - PC with syw up-res mod. Realistically for most it's probably the PC version due modding. ![]()
